"Orchard House" was featured in the August 2025 issue of Jutaku Kenchiku!

Our "Orchard House" was featured in the August 2025 issue of Jutaku Kenchiku, published today, June 19th!

Jutaku Kenchiku is a leading Japanese architectural magazine, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

It's a bimonthly magazine that showcases houses and architecture, presenting building blueprints alongside photographs.

This time, under the special feature "50 Years of Oak Village: Connecting the Culture of Wood," eight wooden buildings previously handled by the Oak Village Timber Architecture Research Institute are introduced.

Many people probably associate Oak Village with furniture, but in fact, they put just as much effort into architecture.

The feature begins with a dialogue between Eiji Ueno, representative of Oak Village, and Toshihito Yokouchi, representative of Toshihito Yokouchi Architect and Associates in Kyoto.

Before the magazine dialogue, Mr. Ueno, Mr. Yokouchi, and Mr. Totani, the editor-in-chief of Jutaku Kenchiku, extended their trip a little from Oak Village Takayama to visit our Orchard House.

Mr. Ueno brought them along to introduce this other aspect of their work, and when they went up to the second floor, they didn't come down for about 30 minutes, creating a very lively atmosphere.

Afterward, they expressed their desire to feature this building in the magazine, and so, it has been published across 8 pages starting from page 68.

The lead article is "Meiji Jingu CAFE Mori no Terrace." Have you ever seen the wooden building to the left of the entrance when you visit Meiji Jingu?

In fact, it is a wooden building designed by Oak Village.

In addition, this is a valuable issue that allows you to learn about the history of the Oak Village Timber Architecture Research Institute, including the connection between Mr. Ueno and the "Yoshijima Family Residence," which represents Hida.
